Wondering how everyone fared? What you would have changed during the race and more important, what you would have done differently in training. I ran 2:23:45. I knew I wasn't fit enough to chase the standard this time around. I am very happy to have…

I am also looking to be a shade over 1:09. I don't know which uni I am wearing yet, but my bib number is 53.

Good luck, gentlemen!

I'm looking to do the same exact thing as Robert, start conservative and neg split. My number is 68: Fleet Feet yellow and navy uniform.

I'm looking to go through the half in a little over 1:09. I want to ease into the OT qualifier pace (5:18/mile) and run a negative split. So I don't mind if my first several miles are in the 5:20-5:25 range. I just want to be conservative early. I'm…

So is it time to figure out some logistics? Since things will be crowded in the starting area on race day but we'll all be in the Top 100 Corral (which will still have a good number of people in it), I think it would be a good idea for those who ar…

Hello everyone. I'm in a bit of a jam and I wondering if there is anyone out there that can help. I'm injured and haven't been able to run in 10 days and it doesn't appear I'm going to be better in time to get fit again for Chicago. This wouldn't be…

Finished up a down week of 85 miles on Saturday (I count my mileage Sun-Sat). Main workout for the week was 10 miles of in and out miles, alternating between relatively hard (on, 5:22 for first, progressed to 5:07 on last) and easier but still up te…

93 miles for the last week with one very short day. Did 22 miles yesterday for my long run. Was a nice out and back on a flat canal. 71:49 out and 66:47 back. Was running some 5:45's but didn't feel the greatest. Got slaughtered by my training partn…

It should read, "I have not done much over 80..."

Well, I thought I would chime in again. We are now 9 weeks out from Chicago and I just finished my first week of marathon specific training which entails increased mileage--from my modest 55-65 I was doing during my speed phase--longer and harder lo…

Dark Horse Course...VOTE

Research can show us the most popular courses, but are they the BEST courses to try to qualify on? Put up a comment to vote for your ideal course. Make sure to tell us why you think it's a great qualifying course.

Getting Started

Welcome to the site.

My current thought is to create a list of races that are eligible for qualifying, and ideal in terms of weather, support, etc. From that list, groups could be created around a particular race, and communication/coordination among members could happen within that group. All members would also have access to the more general parts of the site including training resources, hopefully coaching resources, etc.

For each ideal race, I'd like to create a page on the site that break… Continue

The Top Qualifying Races

I did some research on the races that produced the most qualifiers over the past two Olympic cycles, and produced the following reports. The numbers show pretty clearly where people have had the most success qualifying.

It's worth noting that the races with the highest number of qualifiers haven't been the 'fastest' courses, but the courses with the best group pacing--as many runners as possible going after the standard in the same race. But just because many people can qualify on a slower cour… Continue

Nate Jenkins: An Outline Of The Process

I found this link this morning. It's a great article which informs a lot of the areas I would like this site to assist potential qualifiers in. Enjoy!
